Brand new house from HDB - Reno works ongoing

My new house has been going through renovation works since Apr this year. This is a new 5 room from HDB. Below are some before and after photos of the rooms.

This is the first look at the living room. Pardon the darkness because I forgot to turn on my flash. But look small right... Looks like my existing 3 room flat's living room... sigh...

Next is the miserable kitchen. I only have this small space to cook and wash.. sigh... I miss my old 3 room flat... Not that I cook alot but this is extremely small like a studio apartment size. Even the contractor who came to take measurement for the cabinet commented that this is one of the smallest kitchen he had ever done! (pissed...)

Because Im on tight budget, I have to give up hacking the divider and alot of walls. The existing layout actually works against us because we are a big family of 5 adults including my maid and 1 child. If I have budget, I would have hack the divider and expand the kitchen to the service yard... If only I have the $$$$...

Next is master bedroom. Look at the block of space being taken up by the structure. Sigh... now that is a part which is wasted. In such a space constraint place in Singapore, doesnt HDB realise the owner would have appreciated any sqm of empty space????

One funny thing is that they only provide window grilles to the master bedroom and not to the rest of the rooms... So additional cost to me to have the rest of the rooms installed with window grilles...urgh!
